A Place for Amateurs and Aspiring Photographers

a.k.a. “Why a bald entrepreneur with a mouse for a friend decided to create a new photography community.”

As an amateur photographer intent on learning, improving and having fun with others in a friendly environment, I felt unsatisfied with my options.

So, I took matters into my own hands; I built the Big Photo Hunt.

Together with my new friend Terry the Tarsier, we’re making a place for you and I to share our photos with others who are also interested in growing their photography. If you’re like me, this is the best way to improve; I get more people to see my photos, more feedback and more inspiration because we’re all in it together.

My vision for the Big Photo Hunt is to be the place for people who love their photography. I don’t want it to be Instagram. In my mind it’s better to have fewer photographers that care than millions who don’t. So, if that’s you, I’d be honored to have you join our little (but growing) club. If you have friends that you think fall into that category, please tell them about us. The more like minded people - who come recommended by someone else - the better for all of us.

We’re building this thing step-by-step with a dash of love mixed in. Much is still not perfect. But, each month we get a little better. Our desire to build the photography club that you, as an amateur or aspiring photographer want is my goal.

Over the coming months we’ll be listening for your feedback and building what you want. If you have comments, please do send them along.
