A 20/60/20 Workflow for Shooting Events and Photo Stories

- The First 20% (Safety Shots): Spend the beginning of your shoot securing basic, technically sound images. Focus on proper exposure, sharp focus, and standard composition. This guarantees you have clean, publishable work even if the weather changes or your battery dies. - The Middle 60% (Creative Expansion): Use the majority of your time to work the scene. Move your feet, change your angles, try different lenses, and adjust your settings. This phase is where you refine your vision and build a diverse set of strong artistic choices. - The Final 20% (The 'Wild' Shot): Dedicate the end of the session to high-risk, experimental ideas. Try extreme slow shutter speeds, intentional camera movement, or unusual lighting. While many of these "Hail Mary" attempts will fail, this is where breakthrough, award-winning images happen.
