Cafe’ and Cafe’West

Does anyone have experience with Cafe’ and/or Cafe’West? Just curious to get info from outside those competitions and get this community’s thoughts, experiences, ANYTHING about it. Thank you from J-9, aka, Jeannine

SO, SO, S0 many questions!! I believe you answered my biggest one: Is it a rip-off or gimmick? I’ve had my first 4 pics selected and in an international competition- not one of those where everyone gets an invitation. Here are 3 of them- I don’t remember the 4th… how did you SIZE them for judging? ( juror’s light settings when they view is such a wild card)!). I’m just using my iPhone bc… it’s easy. I’m doing gallery print size, (300 dpi- I don’t know what that really means… sort of- I’m learning…) . But if it’s online…? A potential patron would likely only need/want standard wall art (200dpi), wh/is about 2x the size

I am entering as many free ones as possible and have started doing ones o have to pay to enter…. Because they often have the coolest themes… “The space between is what remains,” I ended up missing the deadline bc I turned it into therapy- my ch needed therapy on the loss of my, “”forever 20, “other son.” Also, upcoming ones include, “In the Realm of the mystic,” there’s one on Joy, one one on Hope… I have several ideas and beginnings for solo exhibits and found where I can try to get into a local hospital system!

Oh! Another one selected. On some I noted in the description they were taken on my phone and why. Yay or nay? Having a very nice Nikon and a Canon gathering dust makes me feel very humbled in a gallery competition. (Except the one for, “Phone-graphs,” due on the 14th).

@[Jeannine Cartwright](ca3d715e-1d9f-452d-8ed0-b7b4e899d4d9) so, when I submitted, I submitted for an gallery exhibit for a local art show. Submission was low quality (cause they had size restrictions for the files). I had 3 selected for one competition, and 2 more for another one. I printed it out of 10x15 wall print, cause they required a wall print. Attached picture shows the print out quality
